Golden Turmeric Latte

The turmeric latte is truly a treat that you don't have to feel guilty about! This warm, comforting beverage seems almost too good to be true! Fortunately, the benefits of the combined ingredients are absolutely nourishing and truly supportive of the immune system.
If you haven't used turmeric in recipes before, it might seem strange

to include black pepper in a beverage such as this! However black pepper is an important component as it helps to 'activate' the turmeric so that the body can absorb the important anti-inflammatory component called curcumin.

Raw Unpasteurized Honey contains antioxidants, phytonutrients, and probiotics, and is especially soothing if you're suffering from a sore throat.

Along with the warming spices ginger and cinnamon, this latte is wonderful after shoveling the driveway, sledding or when you feel a cold coming on....or even as a replacement to your daily cup of tea or coffee!

Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated Ginger (or 1/4 tsp ground)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Black Pepper & unrefined Sea Salt
  • Pinch of cardamom
  • 1 tbsp Raw unpasteurized Honey (optional - personally I don't use it!)
  • 1tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 tbsp coconut milk (I recommend Cha's Organics or Earth's Choice), or preferred milk/cream (optional)
  • 1 cup boiling Water

Directions:
  1. Grate the ginger.
  2. Add ginger along with remaining ingredients to a blender or magic bullet.
  3. Blend for 10-15 seconds. Be careful unscrewing the lid if using a magic bullet, as the boiling water can cause pressure to build.
  4. Pour into glasses, enjoy!

*If you'd like to keep this recipe low carb, feel free to replace the honey with stevia or omit altogether
**Note: The turmeric can stain the blender cup

Makes 2 servings.
