Eggs are a wonderful heart healthy food! Eggs are filled with nutrients including choline, vitamin B12, protein, and cholesterol.

Yes, you read that right, dietary cholesterol is actually HEALTHY, in fact, it's essential!

Our bodies use cholesterol for an array of vital functions, including regulating male and female hormones, regulating blood sugar and plays a role in helping to absorb fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, & K.

This quiche is a little different from traditional recipes because it is crust-less, however it is still full of flavour and plenty satisfying. I love this quiche with a side of summer sausage, a few slices of bacon, soup, or extra cheese!

Instructions:

  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 2 cups Broccoli (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup red onion (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 8 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Cream or Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF (176ºC) and grease a pie pan with the butter.
  2. Arrange the broccoli, red onion and cheese in a single layer in the prepared pie pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl whisk the eggs, milk, salt and garlic powder, and red pepper flakes together. Pour the egg mixture over the broccoli and cheese. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the egg has set and is firm to the touch.
  4. Slice the quiche into wedges and enjoy!

Serves 4.
