What is a meal?

Meals are commonly defined as a prepared dish or collection of dishes served at a specific time of day, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner.

However, in terms of what is in those meals, the possibilities are endless!!! I like to encourage my clients to think outside the box and not limit themselves when it comes to meals.

Instead of repeating patterns that don’t necessarily serve you; i.e. only eating ‘breakfast’ foods in the morning and ‘dinner’ foods in the evening, be creative and listen to your body.

If you want bacon and eggs in the evening, or a chicken salad in the morning, go for it!

Intuitive eating can be a very powerful tool, when used appropriately.

Along with intuitively choosing their meals, I recommend clients follow some basic principles to ensure they are fueling their bodies appropriately:

1.  Center your meals around veggies

2.  Include protein in every meal

3.  Incorporate healthy fats

4.  Sip, don’t gulp, fluids with meals

5.  Create a relaxed state in which to eat your mealsMeals are commonly defined as a prepared dish or collection of dishes served at a specific time of day, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner.
