aIn fact, in Latin, lavender means “to wash”. Since one of the main roles of the lymphatic system is to help rid our body of waste and keep it running cleanly and smoothly, it makes perfect sense that lavender works to support this system.
Lavender, along with other oils such as rosemary and roman chamomile accomplishes this by supporting our natural detoxification pathways. Lavender essential oil is commonly used during a massage and in this way can really help to stimulate the movement of lymph fluid so that our body runs like a sparkling river rather than acting like the water in a stagnant pond. Try applying lavender to your wrists, ankles, or neck and experience both the calming aroma and the benefits of improved lymphatic FLOW! As always, connect with someone you trust who is experienced in using essential oils before you begin!
