Well, it's no joke, we're at the beginning of another month! During the month of April, we'll be focusing on the Endocrine system.
The endocrine system is a fascinating body system that is in charge of coordinating the hormones that our body uses to carry out important every day functions. Things like movement, respiration, heart rate, sleep, metabolism, sensory perception, and hunger are all dependent on the health of our endocrine system.
More specific, or complex tasks like growth and development, thyroid function, sexual function & reproduction also rely on the functioning of the hormones that encompass the endocrine system. This system also plays a role in our mood; any woman who’s experienced PMS can likely relate to this.
While many imbalances in the endocrine system are common nowadays, this does not mean that it is normal This month, we’ll dive into how to listen to your body and identify imbalances, what foods and specific nutrients best support the endocrine system, as well as other ways you can support this amazing system!
