I really love my gut! It may sound strange, but it's true! Understanding my own gut has helped me overcome a lot of issues, from allergies & night sweats, to mood swings & disordered eating.
The topic of Gut Health is getting a lot of attention recently. There's a good reason for this. There has been a huge boom of research in this area, and while there is still so much to learn, great progress has been made in understanding the connection of the gut & the health of the entire body. It is no longer believed that the mind and the body are separate entities. In fact, there's growing evidence that supports the gut is not only connected to the mind, but actually has a mind of it's own! Our guts are actually geniuses that don't get enough credit. They do so much for us, and so we should repay them with foods that offer the nutrients that the gut needs to carry out it's myriad of tasks that support our well being.
When we look at food & eating from this perspective it becomes easier to make healthy choices. I don't suggest you turn to eating just salads and water - it is possible to eat healthy, while enjoying delicious, satisfying foods. You may need some support to get you started, and at other times along the way, but understand that your gut health is the key to empowering you to live a happy, healthy holistic life!
