This month I’d like to discuss supporting self love through nutrition.
It is so easy to forget to treat ourselves with love when we’re busy spouses, parents, pet-parents, professionals, students, or any other position where we spend much of our time caring for, servicing or trying to please others.
By now you may have had the chance to take a look at Canada’s new Food Guide for 2019. Maybe you’ve already formed your own opinion on it. Perhaps it has inspired you to make some changes in 2019, or maybe you’re just happy to keep eating the way you are.
Either way, I hope you’ll consider my thoughts on the new food guide.
You may know that it’s more difficult to obtain adequate Vitamin D during harsh Canadian winters, and perhaps you supplement with it, but do you know why this vitamin is so important?
As a nutritionist, it’s probably no secret that I recommend my clients focus on eating whole, unprocessed real food.
Now, the fact that we’re even using the term Real Food & fake food, or that we have health food stores versus a regular grocery stores, is deeply disturbing to me.
As a January 1st, 2019, I partnered with Towne Fitness as their in house Holistic Nutritionist.
Starting in July of 2018, with the support of Shelburne Family Chiropractic, I partnered with Hannah of Towne Fitness to present the Nutritional Wellness Series. The Series covered a wide range of topics and was well received by the gym members and the community at large.
As a result, Shelburne Family Chiropractic, Towne Fitness & myself have decided that my knowledge and expertise will be best suited as a full-time team member at Towne Fitness. SFC patients will still be able to see me, and will be given a direct referral for bookings in the future.
I'm looking forward to sharing the exciting things that Hannah and I have planned for 2019!
Cheers, and Happy New Years to Everyone!
